Moon Pie
Moon Pies were and still are a popular snack in southern culture. They have been made by the Chattanooga Bakery in Tennessee since their first inception in 1917. Legend has it that a Kentucky coal miner was asked what type of snack he would like to have and he replied, "one with graham crackers and marshmallows". The miner added that the snack "should be as big as the moon", thus leading to the brand name, "Moon Pie". A traditional southern working man's lunch was a Moon Pie and RC Crown Cola.
