Spanish moss adorns a century old live oak on the former Honey Horn Plantation on Hilton Head, South Carolina. The earliest known date of the existence of this plantation is in 1805, and now comprises 68 acres of open space on the Island. Legend has it that the name "Honey Horn" orginated from the slaves mispronouncing the Hanahan name.
