The gentle flowing waters of the Guest River framed by brilliant fall color. Photo taken from the old railroad trestle that is now part of the Guest River Gorge trail. The trail encompasses 5.8 miles of the original rail bed of Interstate and later Norfolk and Western Railroads (now Norfolk Southern). After the trains quit running in 1988, the former rail bed was donated to the State of Virginia for use as a "Rails to Trails" State Park.
Brilliant fall color frames this view of Hidden Valley Lake in Washington County, Virginia. Combined with the crisp, cool, mountain air the fall color creates a total autumn experience at this lake at 3500 feet in elevation.
A kaleidoscope of brilliant fall color is created by the sun shining through this maple tree at Hidden Valley Lake in Washington County, Virginia.
