Ticket on the Tweetsie
Buying a ticket on the Tweetsie Railroad in the former Linville, North Carolina Depot. The depot was moved from Linville to Newland, North Carolina and is now used as a museum of the fallen flag. The "Tweetsie" Railroad, founded in 1882, orginally ran from Johnson City, Tennessee to Cranberry, North Carolina. In 1919, it was extended to Boone, North Carolina and operated to this remote mountain community until 1940.
