Mizzou Icons
The iconic columns of the former Academic Hall on the University of Missouri campus in a fresh winter snowfall. Academic Hall was the first structure built on this land grant University from 1840 to 1843. Academic Hall burned to the ground in 1892 and after a year's deliberations, the decision was made to let the columns remain. Jesse Hall, built in 1895, stands in the background. Jesse Hall was designed by Missouri architect Morris Frederick Bell and is his largest surviving work.
