Retired From The Rails

Norfolk and Western Caboose No 518 173 in Saltville, Virginia. Built in January 1917, this caboose was in service with Norfolk and Western railroad until the early 70s. It was sold to the Olin & Mathieson Corporation in Saltville, Virginia sometime after 1971 and donated to the town of Saltville in 1973. It is in superb condition considering its 103 years of age!
