Southern Giant
The Southern 4501 steam locomotive waiting to go on the turntable in Summerville, Georgia. Built in 1911, this Mikado type 2-8-2 engine is fully restored and still pulls regular excursions on the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum (TVRM) in Chattanooga, TN. She is the only survivor of 100s of these type of engines that Southern RR previously had in the days of steam. She is a sight to behold and hear when under full steam!
