Steam Forward 611
The Norfolk and Western 611 under full steam at the North Carolina Transportation Museum in Spencer, North Carolina. Built in 1950, this Class J steam locomotive was one of the most powerful engines built by Norfolk and Western Railroad in the Roanoke shops. No 611 is the last surviving member of that class of locomotives. It is quite an experience to see and hear the 611 under full steam moving down the tracks!
