Meadowview Depot
The old Norfolk and Western railroad depot in Meadowview, Virginia. Now repurposed as an antiques store, this depot was originally built in 1883. The town of Meadowview later moved it 20 feet from the tracks to get it out of the Norfolk Southern right of way. It survived a fire in adjacent buildings in downtown Meadowview in 1926, when a passing train stopped and sprayed water all over the depot. In the days of steam, when a large quantity of water was hauled in a tender, such a feat was possible!
