Midsummer Night's Dream
Charles Vess created this Midsummer Night’s Dream fountain for the Barter Theatre. The bronze sculpture was completed in 2009 in collaboration with David Spence, a long time bronze artist that lives in the area. The finished fountain, consisting of almost two tons of bronze, measures 16 ft. in height and 15 ft. in circumference and took a little over three years to complete. In the background, is one of the Virginia LOVE signs with a wolf framed in the "O" to signify the original name for Abingdon, "Wolf Hills".
