A fall backdrop highlights the gently flowing waters of Comer Creek Falls just off of the Appalachian Trail in the Mt. Rogers National Recreation Area.
The view from the Little Pinnacle peak (elevation 5089 feet) in Grayson Highlands State Park. Just north of the twin Pinnacles are the two highest mountain peaks in Virginia, Mount Rogers and Whitetop Mountain. On a clear day, you can experience a 360 degree view from this stone outcrop of the Little Pinnacle.
The reconstructed Wilderness Road Blockhouse in the Natural Tunnel State Park, Virginia. The original Blockhouse was built in 1775 by John Anderson near Moccasin Gap. Many settlers frequented the Blockhouse for protection before venturing to through the Cumberland Gap. Love how the clouds frame the log structure!
